Local Area Enrolment
Children living within the local area will be enrolled in accordance with the policies of the NSW Department of School Education. Parents must provide documentary evidence of their place of residence within the school boundary. This evidence can be in the form of a rent or lease agreement, mortgage papers or utilities account. A driver’s license is not considered to be evidence of residential address. A P.O Box can be included in enrolment details but will not be accepted in place of a residential address. The boundary of our local area is indicated on maps held in the school office.
Non-Local Enrolment
Applications for non-local enrolment will be considered only when there are places available in the school and the enrolment does not create the need for a demountable or permanent classroom (Department of Education and Training Policy). Contact will be made with all non-local applicants to obtain further information, if required.
Enrolment of Kindergarten Students
Children may be enrolled in Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn five years of age by 31 July of that year. Documentation providing proof of age, such as a birth certificate or passport, is required prior to enrolment. Enquiries for kindergarten enrolment may be made during school hours. Applications for enrolment will be accepted from the commencement of Term 2 of the year prior to enrolment. A Kindergarten orientation program will be conducted in November of each year. Whilst it is desirable that students commence school at the beginning of the school year, parents who choose to enrol eligible children after the beginning of the school year may do so up to the end of Term 2. The Public Health (Amendment) Act 1992 requires parents to provide documented evidence of a child’s immunisation status on enrolment at school. Parents have the right of not having their children immunised. However, in the event of an outbreak of a vaccine preventable disease, non-immunised children will be required to remain at home for the duration of the outbreak.
Transfer Applications
Students transferring from another NSW Government school will be required to provide a relevant Student Transfer Certificate. If this is not provided the school will immediately seek such a certificate from the student’s last known Government school attended. Parents transferring students from other government school should contact the school office prior to completing the application to enrol form as it is not necessary to complete the entire application form as many details will be generated through the schools enrolment system.
